CIRCLE ROUND

 In this game riders learn where the balance points are on the back of the horse and in their own seat.   This game encourages rides to rely primarily on their seat for balance, the ideal in good horsemanship.

 INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEAD LINE AND BEGINNER LEVEL RIDERS

      1.        Riders are mounted and in cent of ring in “parking place.”

      2.         Instructor gives signal to begin.

 3.         Riders drop reins, remove both feet from stirrups.

4.          Swing right leg over horse’s neck to sit sideways on horse’s near side.

 5.        Rider swing left leg over horse’s croup (rump) to sit backwards on horse.

 6.        Riders swing right leg over group to sit sideways on horse’s far side.

 7.        Riders swing left over horse’s neck to return to the correct position, then place feet back in stirrups.

  WINNER:  First rider with feet back in the stirrups.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTERMEDIATE LEVEL RIDERS

      1.        Riders are mounted and in cent of ring in “parking place.”

      2.         Instructor gives signal to begin.

 3.         Riders drop reins, remove both feet from stirrups and places right hand in the air.

4.          Swing right leg over horse’s neck to sit sideways on horse’s near side.

 5.        Rider swing left leg over horse’s croup (rump) to sit backwards on horse.

 6.        Riders swing right leg over group to sit sideways on horse’s far side.

 7.        Riders swing left over horse’s neck to return to the correct position, then place feet back in stirrups.

Rides may not touch anything with right hand.

  WINNER:  First rider with feet back in the stirrups.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADVANCED LEVEL RIDERS

1.        Riders are mounted and in cent of ring in “parking place.”

      2.         Instructor gives signal to begin.

 3.         Riders drop reins, remove both feet from stirrups and places both hands in the air.

4.          Swing right leg over horse’s neck to sit sideways on horse’s near side.

 5.        Rider swing left leg over horse’s croup (rump) to sit backwards on horse.

 6.        Riders swing right leg over group to sit sideways on horse’s far side.

 7.        Riders swing left over horse’s neck to return to the correct position, then place feet back in stirrups.

Rides may not touch anything with there  hands.

  WINNER:  First rider with feet back in the stirrups.
